Playful Pets

 Playful Pets

This card is a fairly easy one to make using paper that you probably have in stock.

I have used retired Playful Pets paper for the puppies on this card and for the strip of black paper along the bottom of the card.  However, the stamp set that stamps the "Tramp" character as well as the dies to cut him out are still available in our new annual catalogue.  You may have to use a cat for his companion however, unless you own something else with a dog image on it.

The bowl has been stamped and die cut from the bowl in the What's Cookin' stamp and dies.

Here is the paper that you will need.

Basic White cardstock measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 and 2 1/8
Black Cardstock: 1 7/8 x 5 1/4 (2 Pieces)
Red Cardstock is die cut using Stitched So Sweetly die
You will also need a small piece of Red paper for the sentiment.
Black and White printed cardstock from any of our DSP packages that carry black and white, die cut using the largest Stitched So Sweetly die.
Printed DSP for the inside of the card measuring 5 1/4 x 3/4.

Other:
Black Momento Ink Pad
Sharp Cutting Blade
Love stamp is from the February Paper Pumpkin however if you don't have it there may be a similar sentiment in another of your stamp sets.
"Remember the Magic" is not a Stampin' Up! product, however, " Happy Anniversary" would be a nice substitute.
The sentiment is stamped on Red Cardstock and punched using the Classic Label Punch (retired)
Linen Thread
Dimensionals
Red dot embellishments

Instructions:
Fold the card along the score lines and attach the black paper to each of the 2 1/8 sections on the front of the card.  Stamp your sentiment on the red paper and layer the die cut pieces on the black paper toward the open end, making sure to only glue the bottom of the pieces.  Use Dimensionals to attach the red portion.  Attach your DSP strip to the inside portion of the card so that it's visible when the card is bent at the 2 1/8 mark.  Cut a slit in the bowl using a sharp blade and twist your linen thread to resemble spaghetti, leaving two strands to attach to the dogs mouth.  Weave into the slit in the bowl and secure on the back using double sided tape.  Attach the dogs and bowl using dimensionals. Stamp your sentiment on the strip of red paper and punch it out.  Center it on top of the DSP and attach using Dimensionals. Bend the card at the 2 1/8 score line and prop it up using the sentiment to anchor it.
