My name is Jo-Ann and I originate from the east coast of Canada. As most of you know lighthouses are an important part of the landscape there. I moved from the east coast many years ago and now reside in a lakeside community called Sylvan Lake. We also have a lighthouse, more for aesthetics than for any real use, but it is an important part of our lakeside community.
Lighthouses beam their light long distances to provide comfort and safety to those who see it. Cards also send their "light" long distances to sometimes provide comfort, support, humour and greetings to those who need it most. Combine the two aspects and you have the reason for the name!
