Ice Cream Anyone?

 Ice Cream Parlour

This little ice cream parlour double bridge card could be a nice little birthday card or a little pick me up card for someone having a bad day.  It has three layers which gives it some dimension and uses the designer series paper and punches from the Sweet Ice Cream bundle.

The Paper Dimensions:

The base of this card uses Blackberry Bliss cardstock cut to 8" x 4 1/4"

 It is scored at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 5 1/2", 6 3/4" along the long side

The bridges across the card are also Blackberry Bliss cardstock cut to 1"x 5 1/2" and 4 1/4" x 1".

The smaller bridge is scored at 5/8" from each end.

You will need DS paper cut to the following dimensions:

2 pieces of 1" x 4" (for the sides)

2 3/4" x 4" for the back

DSP to cover the bridges  3/4" x 5 1/4" and 2 3/4" x 3/4"

If you choose to do a striped awning for the back like I did, the measurement is 1 1/4" by 2 3/4" cut from the striped paper. I scored it along the bottom edge at 1/8" to create a canopy edge.

You will also need a piece of basic white cardstock measuring 2 3/4" x 4" to attach to the back of the card to write a greeting.

To achieve the look of the ice cream in this picture you will need the abstract coloured paper from the bundle to punch ice cream in the various colours.  You will need to punch out the cone shapes from the paper as well.  If you line up the punch properly on the paper you can avoid wasting much of the paper.  The ice cream toppers are stamped with sprinkles from coordinating ink colors.  You can then attach each ice cream top to the waffle cone bottom.

To Assemble the Card:

Burnish the cardstock along each of the score lines.

Attach DS paper to the sides and inside back of the card as well as the bridge pieces.

To make the awning attach the TOP of the striped paper directly to the back of the card but lift the bottom of the paper using dimensionals.  To complete the awning area attach a bow and some bling.

Next attach the bridges.  For the longest bridge attach it directly to the front right side of the card using glue in only the front area that attaches to the front of the card.  Adhere glue or tear and tape to the short bridge to only the right top side of the paper only as far as the score line.  Tuck this inside the card lining it up with the score line at the back right corner of the card and positioning it above the other bride.

Flatten your card to pick up the paper.  Repeat this procedure with the left side of the card.  Make sure your card will flatten completely once the pieces are attached.

Attach your ice cream cones.  I used three on the front bride and two on the middle piece.

Lastly attach your greeting.  I used the double oval punch to cut mine out.

Have fun!
